
The African Democratic Congress in Benue State has inaugurated a committee to select a running mate for the party’s governorship candidate in the forthcoming general elections.
The party had, during its primary election, elected a former member of the House of Representatives who represented the Konshisha/Vandeikya Federal Constituency, Herman Hembe, as its governorship candidate.
The party, on Monday, acting on a correspondence sent by its governorship candidate, set up a committee to carefully consider the selection of a running mate.
The state party secretary, Peter Chirzenden, who inaugurated the committee on behalf of the chairman, outlined the criteria for selecting the running mate.
Some of the criteria include integrity, democratic values, and commitment to the party’s ideology.
