
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stated that political parties have not uploaded candidate credentials to the official portal because the commission has not yet issued the required access codes.
Mohammed Kudu Haruna, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, clarified that parties remain within the official timeline to complete the process.
Consequently, no nominations have been received yet.
According to the updated schedule, the window for submitting candidate nominations runs from June 27 to July 11, 2026.
