
Family members of the murdered Ajiran prince, Ademola Akinloye, and rights activists have condemned calls for the release of a murder suspect standing trial over the alleged killing of two residents of the Ajiran community in Lagos, warning against attempts to undermine the judicial process.
Their position was made known during a press conference organised by the Centre for Human and Socio-Economic Rights at the International Press Centre, Ogba, Lagos, on Monday.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mrs Adeola Ogundimu-Akinloye, younger sister of the late Ademola Akinloye, described her brother’s death as a painful loss that the family was still struggling to overcome.
She said, “It was a very tragic and unexpected thing that happened to the family. We still can’t get over it, but we thank God. He was a peaceful and easygoing person who never had issues with anyone.”
