“Nigerians’ll get deserved service from power sector” – Minister Tegbe

The newly sworn-in Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has assured Nigerians of improved service delivery from the power sector.

Tegbe gave the assurance shortly after his swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, June 8, 2026.

He was sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu alongside the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye.

Tegbe noted that President Tinubu has made significant investments in the power sector since assuming office in May 2023.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has invested so much in the sector within the last three years.

“However, we are going to be commissioning projects, ensuring that the vulnerable are covered, and doing whatever it takes to make sure Nigerians actually get the service they deserve from the power sector,” Tegbe said.

He, however, cautioned against expecting instant miracles, saying he does not promise a “magic wand” or 24-hour electricity supply immediately, but
