President Bola Tinubu will attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), scheduled to open in New York in September.
Jimoh Ibrahim, Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), told State House correspondents on Wednesday after a meeting with Tinubu that the president has confirmed his attendance at the forthcoming UNGA.
Ibrahim, who presented the budget for Nigeria’s participation in this year’s UNGA, added that Tinubu will participate in a number of side events, including discussions on energy, education and hospital management.
“The president was able to give us his word. Now he will come to UNGA this September,” he said.
The envoy said Tinubu’s participation will provide an opportunity for Nigeria to showcase the reforms being implemented by his administration to the international community.
