‘Bringing Buhari Back to Power Was Nigeria’s Worst Mistake’ – Sam Amadi

 Political analyst and Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Dr. Sam Amadi, has described late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to office in 2015 as “the worst thing” that happened to Nigeria.

 

Amadi made the remark in a post on his X handle on Saturday while reacting to reports detailing ongoing corruption investigations and prosecutions involving several former senior government officials who served under the Buhari administration.

 

“Probably the worst thing done to this country is to bring Buhari to power again. All who participated in that tragedy should at least say ‘I am sorry’,” he wrote.

 

His comment followed reports highlighting ongoing investigations, prosecutions and asset forfeiture proceedings involving former public officials, including ex-Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele, former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, former Accountant-General of the Federation Ahmed Idris, former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika, former Minister of
