Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Emerges 33rd NBA President

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has been elected as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

  

  

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA), Aham Ejelam, SAN, announced the results on Sunday at the NBA National Secretariat in Abuja. Badejo-Okusanya polled 12,317 votes, representing 47.18% of the total votes cast. 

  

She defeated her closest rival, Lateef Akangbe, SAN, who scored 7,934 votes (30.39%), while Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, came third with 5,855 votes (22.43%). A total of 26,106 votes were recorded in the election. 

  

Badejo-Okusanya will serve a two-year term from 2026 to 2028. Her victory makes her the second female president of the NBA after Priscilla Kuye, who led the association from 1991 to 1992. 

  

 The election was marred by technical glitches and a reported cyberattack, which delayed the process.
