Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has shared the amusing story behind former teammate Jamie Vardy’s long-held belief that a healing cream used at their club came from a Nigerian witch doctor.
In a video posted on his official Instagram account, the former Leicester City F.C. star explained that the mysterious “juju cream” was nothing more than natural shea butter he regularly brought back from Nigeria.
According to Ndidi, the joke began whenever curious teammates asked about the cream.
“We used to tell them it came from a Nigerian witch doctor,” he said, laughing.
He explained that the club’s masseuses often used the shea butter to massage injured muscles and aid recovery. However, when they suggested using it on Vardy, the striker was less than convinced.
Recalling the moment, Ndidi said they jokingly informed Vardy that the cream had come from a Nigerian witch doctor.
The former England international’s response was immediate.
