FLASHBACK: “I’d Rather Stay Home Than Work for APC” – Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose once firmly rejected the idea of serving in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, declaring he would prefer to remain at home rather than take up an appointment under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a October 15, 2025 appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain revealed that President Tinubu had personally offered him a position, which he politely declined.

“Have you seen me taking an appointment from the APC? Asiwaju asked me, ‘What would we give you?’ I said, ‘Nothing, sir.’ At 65, I’d rather be at home, being more responsible, doing other things that I need to do. I’ve served well. Two-time governor, I’ve done well. Tomorrow will hold itself,” Fayose had said.
