Nigeria, Germany to hold high-level bilateral talks on trade, security, climate action

Nigeria and Germany will on Wednesday hold a high-level bilateral consultation in Abuja as both countries seek to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, renewable energy, climate action, security, education and technology.

The meeting will see the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, receive her German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa.

The consultations come as Nigeria continues to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with key international partners in pursuit of foreign investment, technology transfer and sustainable development.

Germany is one of Nigeria’s largest trading partners in Europe and has maintained longstanding cooperation with the country in areas including energy, agriculture, migration, healthcare and security.
