At least 32 people have been killed and more than 200 displaced in ongoing clashes between farmers and herders in Udege, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The violence, which began on April 3, 2026, in Odeni Gida Electoral Ward, has spread to several communities including Angwan Mada, Apura Adagba, Udege Kasa, Akyewa, and Angwan Ogiri.
The conflict has left many residents injured or missing, while homes, farmlands, vehicles, motorcycles, food supplies, and economic trees worth millions of naira have been destroyed.
Farming activities have been crippled, forcing residents to abandon their communities and seek refuge in makeshift camps.
Hon. Onarigu Onah Kana, member representing Udege/Loko Constituency, raised the issue during plenary at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, warning that the crisis poses a serious threat to food production and livelihoods.
