The United States Army National Guard has outlined the eligibility requirements and enlistment process for individuals seeking to join its ranks.
According to the National Guard in a post on its website, recruitment is open to both US citizens and lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), provided they meet the stipulated educational, physical and aptitude requirements.

Applicants without prior military service must meet the following conditions:
Age: Be between 17 and 42 years old.
Citizenship: Be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident with a valid Green Card.
Education: Be at least a high school junior, possess a high school diploma, or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
ASVAB: Obtain the minimum qualifying score in the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
