Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has relieved six commissioners of their appointments as part of a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening his administration.
The Secretary to the State Government, Labaran Magaji, announced the development while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting on Tuesday in Lafia.
Magaji said the affected commissioners were in charge of the Ministries of Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, as well as Security and Sundry Matters.
He explained that the commissioners were asked to step aside to pave the way for fresh ideas and strengthen governance in the remaining months of the administration.
According to him, the decision was not a reflection of poor performance, as the council acknowledged the commitment, efficiency and hard work of the commissioners during their service.
