FG distributes 10m fertiliser bags to two million farmers

The Federal Government, through the Bank of Agriculture, has distributed a total of 10 million bags of fertiliser to two million farmers across the country.

The initiative is part of the Federal Government’s effort to support smallholder farmers across Nigeria through the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Programme.

The Managing Director of the BOA, Mr Ayodele Sotinrin, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Team Lead, Corporate Communication Department of the BOA, Ruth Didam. The statement was made available to our correspondent on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Programme was officially flagged off in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Sotinrin described the programme as a major shift in agricultural financing, noting that it places farmers at the centre of a support system that extends beyond access to credit.
