Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday, assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s administration was intensifying efforts to tackle insecurity, expressing confidence that the challenge would soon become a thing of the past.

Akpabio gave the assurance while receiving members of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, led by its National President, Dr Lima Ahmed, during a courtesy visit to the National Assembly in Abuja.

The Senate President’s remarks were contained in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom.

Nigeria has continued to grapple with widespread insecurity, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and communal violence, with several states recording deadly attacks and mass abductions in recent months.

The Federal Government has repeatedly pledged to restore security through intensified military operations and other interventions.

Speaking during the visit, Akpabio said the recent rescue of abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State demonstrated the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the security situation.
