 Nentawe Yilwatda, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has challenged opposition parties to go beyond criticising President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies to presenting practical alternatives.

Yilwatda made the call on Wednesday at the 10th National Assembly Award Dinner Ceremony, which was held at the House of Representatives complex in Abuja.

 

The ruling party chairman, who was represented at the event by Daniel Rejenieju, said many opposition leaders had also promised during the 2023 election campaigns to end the fuel subsidy regime while failing to outline realistic measures to cushion the impact on Nigerians.

 

In a statement issued by Abimbola Tooki, his special adviser on media and information strategy, the APC chairman described the removal of fuel subsidy as an inevitable decision aimed at preventing fiscal collapse.
