The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in colleges of education and non-technological agricultural national diploma (ND) programmes in polytechnics.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesperson, said applicants are not required to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to him, interested candidates who possess the required O’Level credits can register at any institutional professional registration centre (IPRC) located in colleges of education or any JAMB professional registration centre (PRC) nationwide.
Benjamin said the registration follows the federal government’s decision to waive the UTME requirement for admission into NCE and non-technological agricultural programmes.
He said JAMB has developed an admission process to ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted, while maintaining and improving the quality and standards of the programmes.
