Adeleke Orders Suspension of NURTW Operations in Osun Motor Parks

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has directed the immediate suspension of all activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in motor parks across the state.

The decision, announced Thursday after a meeting of the Osun State Security Council chaired by the governor, aims to restore order and strengthen public safety.

According to a statement by Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the move followed extensive deliberations on the state’s security situation. 

Adeleke instructed the Police and other security agencies to enforce the suspension, clarifying that the order does not amount to closing the parks themselves.

He further ordered the halt of all levy collections in the parks and directed security agencies to arrest anyone parading as an NURTW official. 

“Anyone found contravening this order should be arrested for possible prosecution for disturbance of public peace,” Adeleke stated.
