n 2025, you ran several sub-10-second races. This year, you finally broke the Nigerian record with a time of 9.84s, beating the 9.85s set by Olusoji Fasuba in 2006. How does it feel to be the fastest man in Nigeria?
It feels amazing. It’s something I’ve always worked towards, and I’m grateful it finally happened. In 2024, I expected to go sub-10, but it didn’t happen, so I stayed patient and trusted the process. Last season, I knew the work we put in during training was different, and I believed something special was coming. This year, breaking the Nigerian record is a blessing, but I don’t see it as the destination. It’s just another step because I still believe I can run
