RIFEN unveils Nigeria chapter to empower women in digital leadership 

Réseau International des Femmes Expertes du Numérique has launched its Nigerian chapter, marking a new effort to increase the participation of women in Nigeria’s and Africa’s digital transformation agenda.

The organisation, known as RIFEN, is an international network of women experts in digital technologies that promotes women’s participation in ICT leadership, digital policy and innovation. It works with governments, regulators and international institutions to strengthen the representation of women in digital transformation initiatives.

The Nigerian chapter was unveiled during a Special Session on Digital Inclusion and Women’s Leadership held alongside the 7th Ordinary Session of the African Telecommunications Union Conference of Plenipotentiaries in Abuja. The session formed part of the broader ATU conference programme, which included a dedicated RIFEN event on empowering youth and women for digital inclusion.
