The Osun State government has temporarily shut down the new Lameco flyover in Osogbo after it developed structural defects barely three weeks after it was inaugurated.
Reports indicate that one lane of the bridge has been closed after a section failed in the early hours of Friday following a downpour.
The incident triggered a heated exchange between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Accord Party as videos circulated on social media showing visible cracks on the road.
The APC, in a statement by Kola Olabisi, its director of media and information, expressed surprise that the structure developed cracks just weeks after its inauguration amid fanfare.
According to NAN, the party described the incident as evidence that projects executed by the current administration are substandard.
The APC called on the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and other professional bodies to conduct integrity tests on the
