A United States-based lobbying firm linked to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has intensified efforts to secure the release of records connected to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s long-standing case in the United States.
The firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, announced on Saturday that it would broaden its campaign by engaging anti-drug groups, religious organisations and individuals affected by heroin abuse in the United States.
In a statement published on its official X account, the lobbying firm alleged that several American law enforcement agencies had failed to release documents relating to investigations into Tinubu despite multiple requests filed under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
According to the firm, the requests were submitted by American transparency advocate Aaron Greenspan to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The organisation listed several FOIA request numbers which it said were filed in pursuit of records
