The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has clarified that no student of the institution di∆d in the collapse of the Elite Five Star Hostel in Amaokpala, Orumba North Local Government Area, on Sunday night.

In a statement on Monday, the school’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Oguegbu Udoka, explained that the building was a privately owned lodge occupied by both students and non-students.

He stressed that the two persons believed to be trapped in the rubble were not students of the polytechnic.

Udoka noted that most students had already left campus after completing their second-semester examinations before the incident occurred.

He added that the Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, visited the scene alongside school officials to assess the situation, while state government representatives joined rescue efforts.

The institution urged the public to disregard contrary reports, assuring that it would continue to monitor developments and provide updates.

Meanwhile, rescue operations continued at the site as emergency
