The Kebbi State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress has congratulated Governor Nasir Idris and the people of Kebbi State on the administration’s third anniversary, describing the period as eventful and impactful.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the State NLC Chairman, Murtala Usman, the labour union commended the governor for what it described as remarkable achievements across key sectors of the state economy.

According to Usman, Governor Idris’ administration has recorded significant progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare and workers’ welfare since assuming office three years ago.

“The last three years of Governor Nasir Idris’ administration have been eventful and memorable. His government has demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of workers and the general populace through numerous developmental projects and policies,” he said.

The NLC chairman noted that the governor’s labour-friendly disposition informed the union’s decision to publicly acknowledge his efforts and encourage him to sustain the momentum.

“As a former unionist, Governor Idris has not disappointed workers. He fully implemented the N75,000 minimum wage for civil servants in Kebbi State and has maintained prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities,” Usman stated.

He further praised the administration’s interventions in the health sector, including the construction and renovation of general hospitals across the state, as well as the recruitment of teachers to strengthen the education sector.

“The government has revitalised the healthcare sector through the construction and rehabilitation of hospitals. It has also boosted education through the employment of teachers and ended casualisation across ministries, departments and agencies,”
