The Lagos State Government has announced that motorists travelling through the Kara Bridge axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will face two weeks of partial traffic disruptions as the Federal Ministry of Works commences the replacement of expansion joints.
In a statement issued by the Lagos state ministry of transportation, the project is scheduled to start on July 28, 2026, for a period of two weeks, urging motorists to exercise patience, obey traffic regulations, and cooperate with traffic management officials deployed along the corridor.
“To facilitate the repair works, the existing four-lane carriageway will be temporarily reduced to two lanes over a 1.5-kilometre stretch to provide a safe work zone.
