At least two Nigerian Super Falcons stars currently hold the record for the most decorated players in the history of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON.
They are Francisca Ordega and Osinachi Ohale, who currently play their club football for Ittihad Ladies in Saudi Arabia and Pachuca Tuzas in Mexico, respectively.
Ordega and Ohale both hold the record for most WAFCON titles with five each.
The pair are aiming for a sixth with the Super Falcons when they begin their WAFCON title defence on Tuesday night against Malawi.
Their longevity is an inspiration for many footballers on the African continent.
Other notable Super Falcons icons, including Onome Ebi, Asisat Oshoala, Perpetua Nkwocha and Florence Omagbemi, have all four WAFCON titles.
