Two of the four suspects arrested by the Plateau state police command in connection with the killing of Ibrahim Mabaye, a model and student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), have narrated how they tortured him to death.
The 25-year-old political science student was lynched around the Ring road area of Jos north LGA on Sunday over an alleged theft of an iPhone 12.
According to a statement by Alfred Alabo, the police spokesperson in Plateau, the student was rescued by some colleagues, who rushed him to the Jos University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
However, the UNIJOS student was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctor on duty.
The incident sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the brutal torture meted out to the deceased.
