Lekki Port welcomes shipping alliance to boost Nigerian trade

The management of Lekki Port, promoters of the Lekki Deep Seaport, said it welcomes the maiden call of the HMM-ONE alliance service on Saturday, 25 July 2026.

Announcing this in a recent statement, Lekki Port explained that the development marks another significant milestone in the port’s growing integration into global shipping networks and reinforces its position as a preferred maritime gateway for international trade.

“The maiden vessel call follows the launch of the Mediterranean West Africa Service, a new container service jointly operated by Hyundai Merchant Marine and Ocean Network Express. The collaboration brings the two global shipping lines to Lekki Port through a shared service connecting key ports across Europe and West Africa,” the statement read in part.
