The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation across the country, citing recent incidents of killings, kidnappings, and the continued captivity of schoolchildren abducted in Borno and Oyo states.
Obi made his concerns known in a statement shared on his official social media page on Monday.
According to him, more than two weeks after the abductions in both states, the victims remain in captivity despite ongoing efforts by security agencies to secure their release.
The former Anambra State governor also highlighted recent attacks in Plateau, Kogi, and Anambra states, which reportedly resulted in deaths, injuries, and abductions.
He specifically referenced the killing of at least seven people and the injury of 10 others during an attack on Gwon-Ajang village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. He also cited the reported abduction of over 25 residents and
