JAMB Registrar Prof. Oloyede Hands Over to Prof. Aina on Friday

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will on Friday, July 31, 2026, formally mark the end of Prof. Ishaq Oloyede’s tenure as Registrar with a handover ceremony to his successor, Prof. Segun Aina.  

  

The official handover is scheduled for 10am and will be broadcast live on JAMB’s official social media platforms. The board invited the public to witness the significant leadership transition. 

  

Oloyede’s tenure as Registrar expires on July 31, 2026, after two terms during which he introduced major reforms that enhanced transparency, reduced examination malpractice, and substantially increased remittances to the federal government. 

  

 President Bola Tinubu appointed Prof. Segun Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as the new Registrar. 

At nearly 40 years old, Aina will become the youngest person to head the examination body.  

  

Aina holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, a Master’s in Internet Computing and Network Security,
