Omo-Agege’s resignation from APC didn’t come as surprise — Delta gov

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that the resignation of former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, from the ruling All Progressives Congress does not pose any threat to the party in the State.

Oborevwori noted that “the development did not come as a surprise”, adding that “signs of the former Deputy Senate President’s planned exit had been evident for months.”

The governor stated this while speaking in an interview on ARISE TV on Tuesday, insisting that “Senator Ede Dafinone remains a formidable political figure with deep roots in the Urhobo nation.”

According to Oborevwori, Omo-Agege’s lack of engagement with party stakeholders before contesting the APC Delta Central Senatorial primary was a clear indication that he was not fully committed to the process.
