The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has expressed confidence that airtime lending services will soon return fully to about 40 million Nigerians who depend on the platform, following the decision by Airtel Nigeria to restore its airtime credit service and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission’s (FCCPC) suspension of the controversial Digital, Electronic, Online or Non-Traditional Consumer Lending Regulations 2025 (DEON Regulations).
