Leaked DSS memo warns of planned Boko Haram attacks in Adamawa, Borno


 

The Department of State Services (DSS) has warned of planned major attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in Michika LGA of Adamawa and Askira-Uba LGA of Borno state.

 

According to a leaked DSS memo seen by TheCable, the planned attacks are linked to the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement between the terrorists and the two state governments.

 

The memo says the terrorists are planning to abduct senior government officials, councillors, district heads, pastors and residents of the affected communities.

 

TheCable reports that a DSS source confirmed the development

“Intelligence has revealed plans by Boko Haram terrorists to carry out major operations around Michika LGA, and Askira Uba LGA in Adamawa and Borno States, respectively to register the collapse of ceasefire agreement with the state governments,” the statement reads.

 

“The terrorists planned to abduct high government officials, councillors, district heads, pastors and locals residing in the LGAs.
