David Umahi, Minister of Works, has said the Federal Government’s ongoing road infrastructure projects are creating thousands of jobs and stimulating economic growth across the country, urging Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration for sustaining the development drive.
Speaking on Friday during an inspection of the Ebonyi section of the Cross River–Abuja Super Highway, Umahi said the administration’s infrastructure investments were providing direct and indirect employment opportunities for Nigerians while boosting businesses in communities hosting the projects.
He explained that engineers, artisans, transporters, food vendors, suppliers of sand, stone and other construction materials, as well as cement manufacturers, were among those benefiting from the nationwide road construction programme.
According to the minister, the Federal Government’s adoption of reinforced concrete pavement is not only aimed at building more durable roads but is also driving economic expansion through increased demand for locally produced cement and the creation of additional employment opportunities.
