The Jigawa State Police Command has urged residents of the state not to panic over the sound of gunshots as it conducts a shooting range exercise for its personnel in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
This was contained In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, issued to DAILY POST.
He said the training was aimed at enhancing the capacity, professionalism, combat readiness and operational effectiveness of police personnel in the discharge of their constitutional duties.
He explained that, the exercise, scheduled for Sunday, August 2, 2026, will take place at the CP AT Abdullahi Shooting Range in Tsohon Gari and forms part of the command’s routine operational training and firearms proficiency programme
The police assured residents, particularly those in Tsohon Gari and surrounding communities, that the exercise would be carried out in a controlled and secured environment under strict supervision.
