The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended two Nigeria Super Falcons players, Oluwatosin Demehin and Jennifer Echegini, ahead of their final group-stage match at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Super Falcons recovered from a shock defeat to Malawi with a 1-0 victory over Zambia on Saturday.
They now face Egypt in their last Group C fixture, needing a result to secure qualification for the knockout stages.
However, both Demehin and Echegini will miss the decisive clash due to disciplinary issues from the Zambia match.
Demehin was shown a straight red card in the 40th minute for fouling Barbra Banda as the Zambian striker raced through on goal.
Echegini picked up a yellow card, her second of the tournament, triggering an automatic one-match ban under CAF disciplinary rules.
