Kano gov mourns political singer Kosan Waka

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has mourned the death of renowned Hausa political singer, Muhammadu Buhari, popularly known as Kosan Waka, who died on Sunday at the age of 47.

The governor’s condolence message was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa.

According to the statement, the family said the singer would be buried in his hometown of Tsanni, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, by 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Yusuf extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, particularly his mother, as well as his friends, associates, admirers and the people of Kano State.

“The late Kosan Waka was a Kano-based patriotic son of Katsina whose music transcended politics and served as a powerful tool for promoting unity, culture and public enlightenment,” the governor said.
