Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, on Sunday visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as political consultations intensify ahead of the 2027 general election.
Makinde was accompanied by former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.In a Facebook post, Makinde revealed that the meeting focused on “important national issues in view of the upcoming general election,” adding:“We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history.”
Makinde, currently serving his second term as Oyo governor, had in May officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.
While Oyinlola remains a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Fayemi is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Obasanjo has yet to publicly endorse any candidate for the polls.
