Kano Senator Dumps NDC Days After Meeting President Tinubu

The senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District Rufai Sani Hanga, has resigned from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), just days after meeting President Bola Tinubu.

In a resignation letter dated August 3, 2026, and addressed to the NDC Ward Chairman in Dakata Ward, Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Hanga said his decision took immediate effect.

According to the letter, the senator leaves the party after “careful reflection and personal deliberation.”

“I am writing to formally notify you of my resignation from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), effective from today, 3rd August 2026,” Hanga wrote.

He explained that he had decided to withdraw his membership of the party “to pursue other personal commitments and career paths.”

The lawmaker expressed appreciation to the ward leadership and members of the party for their support during his time in the NDC.
