Kano CP warns CID officers against corruption, unlawful detention

The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Ibrahim Bakori, has urged officers and men of the Criminal Investigation Department to shun corruption, uphold professionalism and adhere strictly to the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.

Bakori gave the charge during a capacity-building lecture organised for CID personnel at the Kano State Police Command headquarters.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna, the training was aimed at reinforcing discipline, professionalism and public confidence in police investigations and operations.

The police commissioner warned officers against illegal arrests, unlawful detention and other actions capable of violating citizens’ rights.

“Remain compliant with the rule of law and established investigative procedures in all cases. Exhibit conduct that enhances public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force,” Bakori said.
