Oyedepo Tells Tinubu: Prioritise Insecurity Over Banning Bus Preaching

Bishop David Oyedepo, General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), has urged the Federal Government to focus on tackling Nigeria’s security challenges rather than seeking to stop preaching in commercial buses.

The cleric made the call in response to a proposed amendment to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Act that would penalise individuals found preaching in commercial vehicles.

Oyedepo questioned why authorities are prioritising the issue of bus preaching while insecurity continues to ravage the country.

He stressed that the protection of lives should take precedence over policies targeting religious activities in public transportation.

“There are people who cannot sleep in their homes because of insecurity, yet the concern is preaching in buses. That should not be the issue,” the bishop said.

He insisted that restoring safety across Nigeria must remain the government’s primary concern.
