The police in Ekiti State have arrested six suspected members of a cult group, the Alora Confraternity, following a violent clash at a hotel in Ikere Ekiti.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, Sunday Abutu, said in a statement made available in Ado Ekiti on Monday that members of the suspected cult group, who had gathered at the hotel for a meeting in the early hours of Saturday, August 1, suddenly engaged one another in a physical confrontation.
Abutu stated that “one of the members, popularly known as Sucrose, sustained severe bodily injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.
“Following the incident, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, in collaboration with surveillance operatives of Ilupeju Division, swooped on the scene, which resulted in the arrest of six suspects.
“During the preliminary investigation, the suspects reportedly admitted to being members of the Alora Secret Cult Confraternity,”
