No state entered N50m green challenge, Remi Tinubu laments

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday expressed disappointment that no state government participated in the N50m prize category of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Green Nigeria Challenge, an initiative designed to encourage youths to transform abandoned spaces and dumpsites into green parks and gardens.

She spoke at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, while honouring the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr Mariya Bunkure, for the transformation of the Abuja City Gate into a recreational landmark.

At the event, she presented certificates of commendation to Wike and Bunkure for the FCT Administration’s environmental efforts.

Senior Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, revealed details of the engagement in a statement she signed Monday titled ‘Posterity Will Judge You Well for the Development of the Federal Capital Territory.’

Mrs Tinubu described the City Gate transformation as a physical manifestation
