Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Eti-Osa Constituency I, Lagos State, have staged a protest over the party’s decision to list Saheed Bankole as its candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly in the 2027 elections, despite incumbent Majority Leader Noheem Adams reportedly winning the primary.
According to results announced after the primary held in Ajah, Adams secured 7,638 votes against Bankole’s 1,225, with election officials declaring Adams the winner.
However, when the APC released its final list of candidates on May 25, Bankole was named as the flagbearer, sparking outrage among Adams’ supporters.
On Thursday, members of the Noheem Adams Support Group, alongside youth organisations, women groups, and community leaders, gathered at the Second Toll Gate in Lekki to demand that the party respect the outcome of the primaries.
