West Africa’s expanding data centre market is increasing demand for smarter infrastructure systems as operators seek to improve reliability, energy efficiency and resilience amid challenges including power constraints, ageing infrastructure and shortages of specialised technical skills, Schneider Electric said.
The growth of cloud computing, artificial intelligence applications and digital services across the region is putting greater pressure on critical infrastructure, requiring organisations to move beyond traditional maintenance approaches towards predictive and data-driven asset management strategies, according to the company.
“As West Africa’s industrial and digital landscape expands at pace, organisations are facing a new reality: infrastructure is no longer just an operational asset; it is a strategic determinant of performance, resilience, and competitiveness,” said Vice President for Services, Sub-Saharan Africa at Schneider Electric, Nnadozie Ogbuehi.
