
The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspected drug traffickers and recovered large quantities of hard drugs in separate intelligence-led operations across the state.
The Command disclosed the development in a statement issued on Friday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, noting that the arrests formed part of sustained efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks across the state.
In one of the operations on June 3, 2026, operatives of the Special Enquiry Unit on stop-and-search duty intercepted a Mercedes truck with registration number KRV 837 ZN at the First Niger Bridge Head, inward Asaba.
The vehicle was driven by one Obinna Nwosu, 47, from Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, who reportedly claimed he was transporting plumbing materials.
However, a search of the vehicle uncovered a large consignment of controlled substances concealed in the truck.
