Ex-Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah received a warm welcome from hundreds of supporters in Turkey as he arrived in Istanbul ahead of his expected move to Trabzonspor.
According to BBC Sport on Wednesday, the Egypt captain was greeted by excited fans at Atatürk Airport, where he appeared wearing Trabzonspor colours before acknowledging the crowd that had gathered to welcome him.
The 34-year-old forward is set to join Trabzonspor after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season following a remarkable nine-year spell at Anfield. Salah scored 257 goals for the English club and became one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history.
The Turkish Super Lig side are expected to confirm the signing after agreeing terms with the free agent. With no transfer fee required, Trabzonspor will be able to focus more of their financial package on Salah’s wages.
