Police uncover bandits’ hideout, seize rifles, ammunition

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has recovered two FN FAL rifles and live ammunition during a raid on a suspected bandits’ hideout in Dajin Madam Forest, located between Plateau and Bauchi states.

PUNCH Metro learnt from a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, that the operation followed further investigation into the arrest of four suspects allegedly involved in supplying arms, ammunition, and illicit substances to bandits.

Adeh stated that operatives of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit carried out the operation on August 2 after receiving credible intelligence from one of the arrested suspects, identified as Musbahu Ishaq.

She stated that the information led the operatives to the forest where the criminal syndicate allegedly maintained one of its hideouts.

“Further investigation established that Musbahu Ishaq obtained arms and ammunition from one Rabiu Hassan and supplied them to one Baba Alhaji Sanusi, a suspected bandit kingpin currently at large
