52 Sokoto youths secure BUA cement skills dev’t jobs

No fewer than 52 youths from host communities in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State have secured automatic employment with BUA Cement Plc after successfully completing a six-month training programme on heavy-duty equipment operations.

The initiative, which trained 60 unemployed youths, was fully sponsored by the company as part of its corporate social responsibility aimed at equipping young people with employable skills and reducing unemployment.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, described the programme as a significant investment in the future of the state’s youths.

Represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Alhaji Haruna Abbas Bashir, the governor said the occasion was “a celebration of empowerment, opportunity and hope” rather than just the presentation of certificates.
