Fire has engulfed the AYM Shafa filling station in the Area 3 district of the Federal Capital Territory.
The fire, which broke out around 10 p.m. on Thursday, was still raging as of the time of filing this report.
Although the cause of the outbreak could not be immediately ascertained, firefighters from the Federal Fire Service were at the scene battling the blaze.
The National Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service, Paul Abraham, in a statement, said emergency responders had been deployed to the scene to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.
He said the service personnel were working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings and facilities.
Abraham expressed sympathy with those affected by the incident and assured residents that efforts were underway to bring the situation under control.
